Navaratri

Saturday 23 October 2004.

Ô Mother Amba, during Navaratri you incarnate beauty to drive away ugliness from our hearts.

Your sweet glance transforms the desert of our lives into a forest of blessings.

When seeing your supple movements we see the harmony in this universe.

The gems on your ankles and your armlets, produce the different sounds of the ragas forcing even lord Shiva to dance hearing them.

Ô Mother Durga, the time has come to defend your devotees against devils.
Then, you take the appearance of a terrible warrior who cannot be described.

You become a Giant like Mount Meru [1], stronger than thousands elephants. Your steps on the battlefield provoke earthquake.

But, in this modern times, all these demons you killed are back in human beings forms as
well known singers
well known top models
well known false gurus
well known religious leaders
well known writers
well known politicians
...

They invade human beings’ mind.
Seekers of truth are lost in their hellish nets.

Ô Mother Rakshakari, at this time, we implore your protection, protect your creature !

Jay Shri Durga Mata !

[1] In Hindu mythology a golden mountain stands in the center of the universe and is the axis of the world. This mountain, Mount Meru, is the abode of the gods. Its foothills are the Himalayas, to the south of which extends Bharatavarsha (Land of the Sons of Bharata), the ancient name for India. The roof tower crowning the shrine in a Hindu temple represents Meru. Thousands of miles in height, Meru is located somewhere beyond the physical plane of reality, in a realm of perfection and transcendence.
